ACTI - 2017 - Cannot create the encrypted stream

Hi,

Just got True Image 2017 up and running and having an issue with the back up oto the cloud.

Error:  Cannot create the encrypted stream

I set up a password for encryption for the online backup (as I would assume is best practice) in the options section.

I'd rather not turn off the encryption. Any ideas here please?

Hi Terry,

it may be something on the Acronis sid or due to the new account. Contact support via chat and have them take a look to be sure. This seems more like the encryption of the link with the server is having an issue than the encryption of the backup setting itself.

Thanks......I'll check it when I get home but it dawned on me that I didn't use the same pass that I set up for my account.

I'll change the pass to match my account and contact support if the issue persists.

The encryption password should not be the same as the one for your Acronis account. If someone gets you user password they can also access your backups. I have been using encrypted backups to the cloud for years and have never had this issue. So, contact support as they should be able to sort out the issue. Chat is likely to be the best option.

It might be best to start again with giving details of exactly what problem(s) you are seeing given the lack of any real response to the original poster in this forum topic.

What problem are you seeing?  What version / build of ATIH 2017 are you using?  What type of backup?  Where are you backing up to?  What messages are shown in the task log for the backup?
