ATI 2017 restart change after restore
Hi,
I've restored files\folders from a backup to a data drive and after being prompted to restart (why restart when I only restored data to a non-OS drive) noticed that ATI was configuring something in the Windows startup process. No OS drive content was restored so I've no idea why I was asked to restart and what changes were made during this process. The data restore was done from a backup that also saved the OS drive.
Now, when the system restarts, the UEFI BIOS screen displays for a second or two before restarting again into Windows 10 as normal.
What has ATI changed and how can I change this so any restart simply boots into Windows 10 instantly as before?
Many thanks,
Sean

I've only been prompted to restart when restoring full disk images. In those cases, it wants to restart because it needs full access to the disk in use, but then it ends up resorting to the Linux recovery (ASRM) which will temporarily mess with the bootloader to point it to Acronis instead of Windows. Sounds like this had an impact of some sort on the machine.
You might also want to check the bios to see if "fast start" is still enabled in the bios - I'm assuming it was before if you never saw the bios log before.
Also check to make sure that "windows boot manager" or your main drive is still listed as the first priority now.
I would definitely contact support as well though. If the machine was prompted to reboot for a basic file/folder recovery, that's no bueno. As Steve mentioned, it's often easier to just navigate to your backup .tib and double click on it or right click >>> Acronis >>> mount as volume and then copy and paste files out of it for file/folder recovery.
