ATI 2017- Is there an option to use it when I want it?

Thread needs solution

In older versions there were options to backup things when I wanted to----- this version preset a time in the middle of the night when the machine is off [laptop] and I don't see an option to change that time to a more realistic time.

ALSO:  my primary use for the ATI is to save an image of the setup for later recall if needed.  My desire is to back-up what I want, when I want it.

For example, I turned on my machine today to discover that my backup [middle of the night] had failed because the backup drive could not be found.  How could it be found if the laptop was turned off?  Plus, in this case the backup drive was in a different room--- hard for the laptop to find, I think.

Your help would be much appreciated in finding the correct options.

Hi Gary,

Welcome to the user forum (MVP's are users like you too, so will offer some advise that I hope will help you out, but feel free to contgact technical support as well).

When you setup a backup, all of the options you want are up to you to set.  Most can be modified (like name, schedule, etc) even after its setup.  If you don't specifically pick settings though, many will default to something (like the time you created the backup instead of the time you want it to run).

You should really take a look at the user manual for some basic info:  http://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/ATI2017/#35899.html

There are some good youtube videos with walkthrough's too.  Check out links in the 2016 sticky - they still generally apply to 2017, but you can Google others as well.
