ATI2017 clarification about subscriptions please

Life is somewhat less complicated than you are suggesting above.

There are two types of license you can buy for Acronis True Image Home.  

One is a perpetual license where you will get all updates available for that specific version but no free upgrade to any later versions.

The second is an annual subscription where you will get the same as for a perpetual license plus get free upgrades to later versions and also depending on your particular subscription, access to Cloud storage of various different capacities.  Note: these upgrades depend on you renewing your annual subscription.

Thank you for your posting! With a perpetual (1-time purchase) license you'll get all the available updates within Acronis True Image 2017 version, just like in previous releases. 

As for the subscription: once the subscription expires (after 1 or 2 years), all functionality will be blocked. You can either activate an auto-renewal (this option is available when purchase a new subscription) or purchase a new subscription for another year on our website. Here you will find more information. If a new major version is released while your subscription is active - your subscription will be automatically upgraded to the higher version.

Thanks for the information (I've been a perpetual license holder for years), but I even after reading those KB articles I'm none the wiser
