Automatic cleanup: Disabled after every backup

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I set automatic cleanup to delete old backups. Now after a few month I realized that no backup was ever deleted and after the backup job, the stored values for automatic cleanup are disabled or reverted back to default. After searching through the board and the internet no solution was found.

Backup-Schema: Incremental, create every 5 versions a full version.

Gregor, welcome to these user forums.

I have not heard of any other users in the forums reporting this particular problem with automatic cleanup becoming disabled after running a backup task.

Do you have the latest ATIH 2017 build version installed?  Build 6106 for New Generation or 8041 for Standard.

I would recommend trying a Repair install to start with to see if this will resolve the issue, assuming that something in the application has been damaged or corrupted?

To do a Repair install, simply reinstall the latest ATIH 2017 Build installer over the top of what you already have installed.  Be sure to run the installer from an Administrator account and use Run as Administrator to have the correct privileges available.

Hello Gregor,

If the issue still persists, you can try investigating the issue on your own or let us do it for you.

Cleanup settings are stored in backup scripts files in the folder C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts

An antivirus or other security-related software might be blocking changes to this folder. Process Monitor log allows to detect such blocking from the third-party programs.

Logs from C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Logs\ti_console might also be able to tell what happens to the backup script, why the settings are not saved or are reverted.

Regards,

Slava
