Autostart backup agent

Thread needs solution

Hi!

I am currently testing the backup capaility of Arconis True Image 2017. I found, that the online backup to the Arconis cloud is what I was looking for.

One point is unclear for me:

If I can chose special dates and time for the backup, how I can have the backup agent running with the start of Windows?

It would not be very useful, if there is only a manual start. Have I overlooked this feature in the setup?

Best regards

Hans

Hans, welcome to these user forums.

I am not sure that I understand your question here?

If you have created a backup task to go to the Acronis Cloud, then this will run according to the Schedule you have created without any need for any manual intervention.

You can look at KB 56697: Acronis True Image 2016: Services and Processes for information on the various services / programs used by ATIH and check that these are operational on your system as needed.  This covers all the main items used for the 2017 version apart from the Mobile services which were added and new services introduced with the New Generation product version.  Acronis haven't yet published an equivalent document for 2017.

It does all this by default - you just have to pick the options in your backup task.  Acronis always starts with Windows - we'll when a user has logged in anyway.

There are options to set a schedule as soon as you create or edit your cloud backup task.  There is a "run backup now" for all backup tasks that can be used to manually run it when you want as well.

Hello all!

Thanks' for the information. I thougt, that I need to find the task of Acronis Backup in the tray icon area. I was missing this (for example, Dropbox can be found at this place) an so I thought, that this process is not started automatically.

Have a good day and agaon - thank you
Hans

Hans, the system tray icon is only shown when an Acronis task is active when it will also show you the percentage completed for the task.  Otherwise there is no Acronis icon shown.
