Backup with Drive rotation

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I want to use True Image 17 for my system backup. I have set it up on a schedule to back up to an external drive nightly. I am rotating the usb drive daily to have a safe backup plan.

After the drives had filled up I switched to a Full back Scheme and told the software to Delete backups older then 3 days.

The Backup failed last night saying the drive is full. The files on the drive are dated

I am guessing that since I am rotating drives the software can not tell that there are previous backups on the drive and it is not deleting the old backups.

Is my only option to switch to one backup copy per drive?

Thanks.

You should assign a fixed drive letter to your external drive, high in the alphabet (e.g. M) to avoid its letter changing. Assign a different letter to each drive.
Windows Disk Management | right-click the external drive | Change drive letters and paths.

Create a separate backup task for each external drive. This will avoid a variety of potential problems later.
