Broken Acronis True Image 2017 Build 8058

Thread needs solution

Hi All,

Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview 32-Bit Build 16251.0 seems to have broken Acronis.

Repair did not help any.

Thanks for alerting us to this issue Morton with this latest Win 10 Insiders build.  Please submit feedback directly to Acronis with a System Report (assuming these functions will work for you?), otherwise you may need to run the System Report via the normal All Programs menus and open a Support Case to get FTP details to upload it.

Hi Steve,

You are welcome. This may simply be a bug in this Build 16251.0 rather than a problem with Acronis since both Acronis 2017 and 2018 have exactly the same problem on both Desktop Computers, but luckily I Multi-Boot my computers, to see the problem. And to image the Build from another operating system.

Update: the latest Windows 10 Insiders build 16273 has resolved the issue that was causing ATIH 2017 & 2018 to not find any disk drives for the Source data selection.

Since upgrading to 16273 I have been able to run my Acronis backups without problem on my 32-bit Win 10 computer system.

I have had nothing but issues with Acronis 2016 and then Acronis 2017 after upgrading to Windows 10. The only thing I can do reliably is create clones of disks - everything else is a crap shoot. I have spent countless hours researching solutions to the issues I have had, with litlle or no luck at all. Frustrating! Acronis was such a good tool for Windows 7.

Goodbye Acronis, I will miss you, but I don't use software out of sentiment, I use it because it works, and you "Acronis" are just too broke to work with Wiondows 10 reliably. Now I am consigning Acronis 2017 to the garbage heap and will use my new favorite (and working) Disk Imaging and Backup Software, Macrium Reflect - and there is a free version that does everything I need! This software is excellent. I tested imaging and restoring the image to a brand new, unitiliazed HD (a task that made Acronis throw up all over itself) and it worked LIKE A CHAMP! It also passed the restore image to same disk - that was the first test I did.

Recommend you try Macrium Reflect if you have unresolved problems with Acronis - I am sure you will be pleased!

Hi @ DCD ,

I suggest that you don't know Software, or how to fix problems. I am 100% sure that if you installed Macrium Reflect in Windows 7, than upgraded to Windows 10, you would have an problems with that program as well. A number of programs, had to be uninstalled and reinstalled to fix problems in Windows 10.

Acronis True Image 2017 Build 8058, is working just fine in Windows Insider Build 16275.1000.

Hi @thecreator

No. I really do know software, and I reinstalled multiple time after upgrading to Win 10. Don't be so judgemental right out of the gate - starting out with big cannons and verbal bombast is a sure way to kill a two-way constructive discussion before it even gets started.

I am glad you having luck with Acronis, and I hope you continue to do so. There are lots of forums with users who have had nothing but negative experiences with Acronis - so I will leave it at that.

Please, if you do respond... make it constructive :-)

Hi @ DCD ,

Fair enough. I was only commenting on the 32-Bit of Windows 10 Pro Insider and Acronis, not on the 64-Bit.

But, what got me, was that you stated that you were having problems with Acronis, but did not state which Bit of Windows 10, you were working with. There are differences between 32-Bit and 64-Bit Versions of Windows 10, including the Build number.
