⦁ C Drive Greyed out when using Recovery VIA USB

Thread needs solution

I was using Acronis recovery I have on a USB stick and the recovery process failed.

Thinking it might be the Back Up Image, I tried a different Back Up Image, but when I got to the part of the recovery where you choose which part of the Hard Drive to recover to, the C Drive is greyed out.

I've done searches on how to resolve this problem with no joy.

Does anyone know how to resolved this, ie, make the C Drive writeable so I can restore my Back Up Image?

TIA

Other Information.
The USB recovery tool is the same one I have used before and boots up fine.
The C Drive Partition is the same size as when I made the Back Up Image's and prior to this, I have recovered / restored images to this Partition with no issues.
The C Drive Partition is larger than the File Size of the Backup Image.

Jon, welcome to these public User Forums.

The log for your failed restore attempt should provide more information on why the C: partition is not considered of sufficient size to allow it to be selected?

You can access the log in the rescue media by clicking on the Log option in the left side list, then save the log by right-clicking on the top title entry which will give you a 'Save as' option.

Increasing the size of C: by taking say 3 - 5GB from the adjacent D: partition would probably resolve this issue.  This could be done using a free tool such as MiniTool Partition Wizard.
