Cannot see ATI 2018 backup files copied to USB drive on aother PCs

Thread needs solution

I think Acronis need to do a better job with their AAP.  I get the concept but it has a lot of issues.  If you get pass the issue of ATI not allowing a simple copy of the tib file to another drive, the next issue is seeing the file ton another PC.  Let me explain.  I made a copy of PC-A.  For safty, after turning off AAP, I copied the tib file to a USB drive so I can put the file on a PC-B which is where I keep a copy of all backups.  I plug the USB drive into PC-B but I do not see the tib file.  I move the USB drive back to PC-A and the file is there.  I've set the viewing properties of File Explorer to show all hidden and system files.  Still PC-B does not show the 2018 tib file on the USB drive.  I see other ATI files (2014 - 2017).

What's up with this Acronis?

On further trouble shooting on my part, I rebooted PC-B, and The file showed up in file explorer.

Next I tried to copy the file from the USB drive that was attached to PC-B to a Windows Domain drive (I'm the Domain Admin) and once again I did not have permission.  So I tried copying it a Google File Stream mapped-drive and it worked.  Again I ask what's up with this.?

There's a lot unknown here.

First, if Acronis Active protection is enabled (AAP) that will prevent copying of .tib files or deletions regardless. Disable AAP from the taskbar or the ATI app if you want to do this, or do it from another computer where AAP is not running.

2nd, we have no way to know what access rights you have on your domain for all shares and folders. Can you copy other files to those locations without issue? If so, assuming AAP is off, you should be able to copy to the domain share too - make sure there isn't a quota on the share that the .tib size may be larger than.

3rd, USB drives can inherit permissions from the host computer they were set up on, or plugged into. If you can't move a file on or off the USB, it's usually permissions. So, if AAP is off and your having issues moving .tib files to the USB, you'll want to take ownership of the drive at the root and then when that's done, replicate the permissions on the drive, making sure that your admin account or the group it is in has at least read/write permissions from the root of the drive to all folders on down. If not an issue, make sure "everyone" and "all users" have modify access too.
