Can't do a soft shutdown or restart after installing Acronis True Image 2017

Thread needs solution

Ever since I installed True Image 2017, I can no longer shut my system down normally.  It just sits and spins on the shutting down screen and I have left it for up to 4 hours and it still hasn't shut down.  The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the power button for several seconds.  I am running Windows 10 with True Image 2017 Build 5554.  The first couple of times this happened, I would get the window saying that Acronis needed to finish up and to wait a couple minutes, and it sat there for hours until I powered off.  I changed my backup schedule and size and I no longer get that window.  I just get the standard Windows is Shutting Down window now, but it stays there until I power off.

My brother recently installed the same version of True Image on his Windows 10 system and the exact same thing happened to him.  The problem started for him the day he installed the Acronis software.  Now he has to do a cold shutdown all of the time too.

I tried removing True Image iwth the microsoft tool that does a complete uninstall of software.  After that I had to do a cold shutdown the first time and then I was able to do proper shiut down and restarts.  I tried reinstalling it again and I have the same issue.  Has anyone else experieinced this and found a fix?  Thanks.

This issue was a reported problem in past versions of the product but the version you are using should not exhibit this behavior.  I recommend that you open a support ticket so that Acronis can investigate the issue.
