Can't see shares on WD My Cloud

Thread needs solution

I have to NAS Systems, an older Netgear ReadyNAS Duo and a WD MY Cloud Mirror.  Both have no users created and all shares are public.

Both show up under NAS in True Image 2017, but I see only the shares on the ReadyNAS to any of which I can backup backup just fine.

When i try to access the WD, no matter by which means, via the NAS selection, mapped network drive, directly entering the share name via NAS host name or IP address, I get asked for credentials, even those of the admin don't work. Connection test always fails. All my Windows 7 machines can see and access sabers on both NASes with no problem, so can Norton Ghost.

I have followed all the troubleshooting instruction in the Acronis KB that I could find, to no avail. True Image doesn't seem to play well with a WD NAS. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have mapped drives in Windows currently to the NAS as well?  If so, try applying patch 5555 as a work-a-round until then next release:  https://kb.acronis.com/content/59095

I have a WD MYCloud 4TB and it connects just fine with both secured and public folders.  I had never actually tried to backup to the public folder, but it went off without a hitch.  I do not have any mapped network drives to the NAS though, but the patch above is a fix for that if you do.  Otherwise, you have to temporarily stop and restart the worksation service and setup the backup then to get around the NAS credential bug when setting up a new NAS connection or editing and existing one.  Once connected, it will stay connected (even without the patch), but you'll get authentication errors during the setup or when editing the task unless 5555 is installed or unless you stop/start the workstation service.
