Change of OS on 3 user license

Thread needs solution

Hello all,  been an Acronis True Image User since 2012 and I have recently upgraded to ATI 2017.   I have 3 user license on 3 Windows machines.  My daughter is gone of to college at BU.  She has become a MAC user and uses Time Machine.  But I am wondering since she is no longer a "Windows" user can I install a mac version of ATI (2017) which I would still be within my 3 user license just now one of them would be used for a MAC

It should be OK. Tim, why not just try it and see what happens. Download the MAC installer (the evaluation version will do) and install it. Run the program, and log into you acount. All going well you will be told that you will need to deactivate ATI 2017 on one of you other devices. I cannot remember the exact process - hopefully it will take you directly to the place where you deactivate one of the devices.

PS I did look up the process to deactivate a device some time back and it appears you can  only do it once you have exceeded the number of installations covered by your licence. Just diud a quick search and found the following:

https://kb.acronis.com/ati2017/moveactivation

Tim, there shouldn't be a problem with moving the license from your daughters computer to a different one, including to a MAC providing that your license includes both Windows and MAC.  You may be prompted with a message saying that you have exceeded the license activation count when doing so, but should see options which will allow you to remove the license from the one system and bring it to the new one.

If you have any issues in doing this, then you should open a support ticket directly with Acronis as we cannot resolve any license or activation issues here in the user forums, as have no access to the backend systems involved.

thanks fo the quick response.  I will look over the kb note

Thank you sir!..great forum!
