deleted ATI 2017 and reinstalled ATI 2014
My 2017 version of ATI was much slower on backup sets, particularly in the validation procedure.
Additonally, the ability to easily review logs was removed.
I had rerquest help from Gene Barlow at User Group Relations, the reseller I have used for several Acronis purchases over the years, but never heard back from him.
I used Revo unistaller to complete remove ATI 2017 as 2014 would not reinstall over a newer version, and I was then able to reinstall. The backup and validate speeds are now approximately twice as fast as using 2017, as they had been before the 2017 install.
I am running Win10 on an ASUS. I have an SSD for C:\ if that makes any difference.
I paid my money and became a beta tester. I'll keep using ATI 2014 until I have a real need to upgrade, and when I do, it will not be to an Acronis product.

I did a similar test and compared TI2017/TI2016 with a trial version of NovaBACKUP 18.1 and NovaBACKUP wins on everything but cloud storage and compression. A backup that takes three minutes to complete in TI2017/TI2016 takes under one minute in NovaBACKUP 18.1. Same files selected, same destination.
If the cloud storage options in NovaBACKUP were as good as in TI2017/TI2016 i would already had made the switch to NovaBACKUP 18.1.
Bottom line: The user interface in True Image is slow and sluggish when selecting files and the time to complete a backup is too long with True Image.

First an addedum to my comment above concerning Gene Barlow at UGR. He made he mail contact with me a short while ago and removed any negative feeling I had about his handling of my issue.
Steve Smith, your comment about this being a user forum make absolutely no sense to me. I am a long time user and I was sharing my experience with my Acronis product, for other users to read.
I wasn't asking for any technical help.
If you say that ATI 2014 is not supported on Windows 10, I will have to get another backup solution. Roger A, your comments about NovaBACK are very much appreciated, and since I do not do cloud BU, possibly that is the way to go... certainly no longer Acronis after my current experience with ATI 2017 and Steve Smith's patronizing comments and warnings about reliability of ATI 2014 on Windows 10.
Hey, Steve, I do have an unused 2015 license. Maybe I'll install that. And I am not asking you if that would be OK. I see that you are a voluteer; you are doing things all wrong.
To ATI 2014's emmense credit, 2-3 months ago I had a hard disk crash and ATI 2014 performed perfectly in saving and restoring my entire disk to a new one.

EB, I am not sure how you have arrived at your conclusions based on a single reply that I posted but that is no problem for me, I too was sharing my experience with you and other users as a long time user of these products.
See KB document: 56196: Acronis Products: Windows 10 Support for the source of my comment about ATIH 2014 - I was not saying that this does not work, just paraphrasing the following statement from this KB document:
Older versions of Acronis products
Support of Windows 10 will not be implemented into older versions of Acronis products (e.g. Acronis True Image 2014 or older, Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 or older, Acronis Snap Deploy 4 or older), as Acronis development team works on the current versions only. Stable functioning of older products on Windows 10 is not guaranteed.
The above are Acronis comments not my own about the reliability of ATI 2014 on Windows 10.
I wish you well with whatever decisions you make about the product you choose to protect your systems.
