Deleting Backups

Thread needs solution

I read the Help topic "Deleting backups and backup versions" section and am confused. The help topic does not tell me how to display a list of backups. How do I do that, click the down arrow in the Backups section, and then select Open Location? If not, please tell me how to display the list.

When viewing the Backup section in the app GUI your backup tasks are listed in the center column.  To the right of each backup task is a small down arrow (\/).  Click on that arrow symbol and a menu will appear from which you can choose Delete.  You will have 3 choices, Cancel, Delete entirely, and Remove.  Cancel does just that, cancels your selection to delete.  Delete entirely will delete the backup file and remove the entry from the backup task list so that it no longer appears in the list of backups in the GUI.  Remove deletes the backup task entry from the backup list GUI but does not delete the backup file itself.

Backups show up in the left hand window automatically if they were previously created on the system.  If you have other backup .tib files you want to import into the GUI, use the drop down carrot and "add existing backup".

To view different versions of a backup, select it in the left hand window.  At the bottom, you'll have the option to "recover".  Click on "recover".  You'll then be able to pick the recovery by date.
