Difference in Backup Sizes

Thread needs solution

I made 2 sets of Entire PC Backups for 4 different PC's, each set onto a different external drive. One set was made on 9-6-16 and the other set on 9-8-16. I didn't pay attention at the time to the size of the backups. Today I was going to begin adding to them but before starting, noticed that for each PC the first backup I made on 9-6-16 was about 30% larger than the one made on 9-8-16. I thought I did eveything the same each time and can't figure out why there is a difference. Can anyone offer any suggestions/theories?

I think I found what I did. In choosing Entire PC I was including my external drive I had attached. I must have drilled down on the smaller sized backups to back up just the internal drive on each PC.

Yeah, that happens a lot with "entire pc".  I would usually recommend to use "disks and paritions" and only select the specific disk(s) you intend to backup so that you don't accidentally backup other connected drives if they are attached when a backup is in progress.
