DVD drawer keeps opening, during simple rescue media creation, giving errors
Recently, I upgraded a friend’s Dell desktop, relatively new, from Acronis 2018 to Acronis 2019 (with a 5-license upgrade version). I was able to back up the entire PC, but not able to create Simple rescue media. I tried 3 times with DVDs, once using the built-in DVD burner, and twice using an external, USB DVD burner. On all these attempts, the process was interrupted by the DVD drawer repeatedly opening, interrupting the process and giving error messages. Why is this happening and how do I create simple rescue media?
I do have another, boxed version of Acronis 2019 (5-license), and so could use that disc to boot my friend’s desktop if Windows is not bootable. But I would like to create simple rescue media with what’s on my friend’s computer currently, if possible.

Do to to Steve. I would suggest trying to create an .iso and then attempting to burn it to disc in Windows or a third party utility as a test. Ideally though, if you have a 2GB -32GB USB flash drive, it could improve performance and speed up load times too to build the rescue environment to it instead of DVD.

Sounds like a plan. Best of luck!
Also, check your dvd drive in Windows for existing cached files waiting to be burned. You may have something cached from some other previous burn attempt, causing the burn issue to disc here.
Here's an older Win7 post about it, but could apply to any current Windows OS.
