Error with first Non-Stop Backup to ASZ

Thread needs solution

Just upgraded to '17. Created new non-stop backup to fresh (empty) NSZ.

Event Code:

Kent, welcome to these user forums.

Please download the Log File Viewer app from the link in my signature below and use this to check for any other messages that may be shown in the log files.

In the Log Viewer, click on Log Type, then select to look at the Nonstop Backup log files.

What size of data have you selected for your source data for NSB?

What is the size of your ASZ?

See the ATIH 2017 User Guide: Acronis Nonstop Backup data storage which states:

Before creating Acronis Nonstop Backup data storage, Acronis True Image checks whether the selected destination has enough free space. It multiplies the volume of data to be protected by 1.2 and compares the calculated value with the available space. If the free space on the destination satisfies this minimum storage size criterion, the destination can be used for storing Nonstop Backup data.

See also from the User Guide:  Acronis Secure Zone cleanup where it states:

Acronis True Image does not delete nonstop backup versions in the Acronis Secure Zone automatically. Such versions can only be deleted manually. For more information see Acronis Nonstop Backup data storage.

Steve,

Thanks for the info.

I understand about the size requirements. I was trying to backup about 50Gb to an empty 150Gb ASZ, so that shouldn't have been an issue.

So, I downloaded the Log Viewer. I ran ATIH 2017  to start the NSB. Lo & behold, it didn't get the error. Once the first one completes, I'll wait & see if the error returns. I'll update Monday morning.

Thanks for the update Kent, hope all continues to work correctly.
