David, welcome to these user forums.

This type of error frequency is usually caused by the Advanced Error Handling setting retrying the backup repeatedly due to an error condition being encountered.

Please download the MVP Log Viewer (link below) and use this to check what messages are being written to the task log which should throw more light on what is happening here.

Thanks Steve,

I downloaded the link and unzipped the files. What do I do with files in the folder. There doesn't seem to be any program to launch. What do I do with the folder?

Could you gie me a step by step procedure to get started.

Thanks

David

David, did you download the MVP_Log_Viewer.ZIP file?  This is what you need to download, then unzip the contents and simply run the MVP Log Viewer.exe program from the location where you extracted it.  It doesn't need to be installed and should be fairly self-explanatory to use.

I downloaded the wrong link. Got the viewerto show up. however, tried to run it and got the message "I don't have permission to run it". I'm the only one on this computer and am the administrator.

David, have you tried taking the 'run as Administrator' option for the log viewe .exe program?  Also check that you have downloaded the .exe file to your desktop and not in a folder where it may not be permitted to run from.

Steve, copied the file to desktop and tried to run"as administrator". Still denied permision.

Is there some way to delete the log files while we try to fix the problem? They must be huge by now.

David, the only reason I can think of why you cannot run the Log File Viewer program is that your security software is preventing you from doing so?

The log files are normally very small in themselves so you shouldn't need to worry about their size.

At this point, I would suggest creating an Acronis System Report zip file and attaching this to this forum topic - this will include all the log files too and will allow me to see what they are saying.

For reference the log files are stored at C:\ProgramData\Acronis\ with the task logs at \TrueImageHome\Logs\ti_demon\ with some quite long names so you should look for the ones with the latest date/time stamps.
