Failure to boot from rescue media

Thread needs solution

I've tried both a USB (FAT32, 16GB) flash drive and a CD rescue media created in TI2017.  Both methods fail.  The flash drive provides 3 options; I select True Image (64 bit); the program responds "Loading, please wait," and then hangs on the proverbial black screen--Any assistance would be appreciated--Thanks--

Robert, welcome to these public User Forums.

Please see KB 59877: Acronis True Image: how to distinguish between UEFI and Legacy BIOS boot modes of Acronis Bootable Media

Your "WIN 10 Prof/NO Raid configuration/UEFI boot" system requires that the Acronis boot media also be booted in UEFI mode and you should select the 64-bit menu option provided this matches your computer architecture.

Thanks for the information.  I did check the boot method; it's UEFI.  I followed KB59877 and used the same process but the systems hangs before the TrueImage blue screen options--

Update--I tried the Rescue Boot stick on another WIN10 computer and it worked fine--it did proceed to the Blue Menu--Why on this computer is the "kenel panic" msg generated?--they are essentially the same OS and Hardware?

Robert, there must be some difference in the computer hardware if the rescue media works as expected on your second computer.  The OS doesn't get involved at the BIOS level where the kernel panic would be thrown, so this could be related to your graphics adapter or perhaps a memory issue?

The other option here would be to try creating the alternative Windows PE version of the rescue media but which would need either the Windows 10 ADK to be installed, or else to create the media using the MVP Custom ATIPE builder tool (see link in my signature) which can create the media using the Windows 10 Recovery Environment files.

Thanks--I was able to generate a Rescue Media disk via Windows PE--I appreciate your help--
