File restore does not work
Hi,
Having backed up two sample folders to NAS device I tried to restore a file which I deleted on purpose after backing up folders but nothing is happening - file has not been restored to original location (also restore does not work if I select alternative location). I could browse backup file and copy file from backup to original location but it is not preferred way of doing file restore. This is a basic operation and it should be straightforward. There is no error or warning - since it is a small .txt file restore should be quick and file visible in original location which it was deleted from. Only info visible is Calculating time remaining which dissapears very quickly without any additional information that restore succeded or failed.
If this does not work I do not know what to say ... (Acronis True Image New Generation Version 2017, Build 6116)
NOTE: Yesterday I made backup of C partition and today I successfully restored file from backup i.e. file restore from partition backup works but from files and folders backup does not! Very strange behaviour.

I do not have MVP log viewer. Is it separate product I need to pay or free tool?
NOTE: I found it on link below, thx.
It seems mapping network location on NAS in Total Commander causes some issues with Acronis network connectivity to NAS. I removed mapped location in TC and now file/folder restore from backup works. Having mapped network location causes the following error:
error 0xfff0: Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again

Bojan - that is a Windows restriction error (not an Acronis error).
Although this link is for VISTA - the scenario applies to all versions of Windows: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/938120/error-message-when-you-use-user-credentials-to-connect-to-a-network-share-from-a-windows-based-computer-the-network-folder-specified-is-currently-mapped-using-a-different-user-name-and-password
----------------------
Status
This behavior is by design.
Workaround
To work around this issue, use one of the following methods.
Method 1
Use the IP address of the remote server when you try to connect to the network share.
Method 2
Create a different Domain Name System (DNS) alias for the remote server, and then use this alias to connect to the network share.
After you use one of these methods, you can use different user credentials to connect to the network share. In this situation, the computer behaves as if it is connecting to a different server.
----------------------
You can only map one set of credentials from the active Windows logon, to a remote device. The work-a-round is to connect to the device using different methods (1 IP, 2 DNS name1, 3 DNS name2, 4 DNS name3). You can, of course, have multiple connections to that remote device, but they must all be using the same credenials, if you are using teh same method for all connections (IP or a specific) DNS Name). IF the credentials are not the same (ie. remote NAS A is being accessed with nasuser1\password1 and a second connection of nasuser2\password2), Windows will not allow this. However, if all connections are nasuser1\password1, you can connect to multiple shares on that remote device.
Alternatively, if you have a mapped drive in Windows already (G: drive or something), instead of using the NAS connection in Acronis, expand "this pc" and locate the mapped drive letter and connect that way. If using the the network, or my NAS connections, then you need to make sure to use the exact same credentials you mapped the network drive in Windows with and the same NAS IP or name.

I mapped network location in Total Commander:
X:\ mapped to \\CAS-NASDevice\bojan.zivkovic
During backup configuration in Acronis I selected the same location \\CAS-NASDevice\bojan.zivkovic (Acronis is run under the same account Total Commander is run under and that is my domain account bojan.zivkovic). I do not know which multiple users error is pointing to since there is only one user in place - myDomain\bojan.zivkovic. Of course with the same user account I run file/folder restore which fails if mapped network location exists in Total Commander/Windows Explorer. To sum up there is one network location on NAS device dedicated for my backups and from both Total Commander and Acronis connection to that location is made using my domain account bojan.zivkovic. Error is occuring not during backup configuration but restore operation which is run under my domain account too.

What version are you using - are you still using 5554? If so, please upgrade to 2017 v8029 - that may help as well as there was a bug in 5554 with connecting to NAS shares in Acronis is one was mapped in Windows. That's a separate issue from the error you got in Windows before though.
Windows credentials are saved in Windows Credential manager - not sure specifically about total commander if it stortes information elsehwere though.
Don't use total commander for testing - stick to just Windows File explorer to start with. Remove the mapped drive in Windows. Delete any saved Windows credentials for the NAS that are stored in credential manager. Reconnect the mapped drive in Windows file explorer - take note of the login account and password - exactly. If using 8029 then double check the credentials in Acronis and makes sure they match exactly how you mapped the drive in Windows - should work.
Once that's done, then you can try bringing total commander back into the mix - if it fails then, I'd suspect total commander is storing different information somewhere.
Due make sure you have 8029 installed though before testing anything else (or 6116NG if you have a NG subscription).

Rob, per the OP's first post, this is NG build 6116.

Try inserting domain into the username field. ie. (\\myDomain.CAS-NASDevice\bojan.zivkovic) or (\\CAS-NASDevice\myDomain\bojan.zivkovic)

Beside having only one account used in both TC and Acronis I wonder why setting up backup does not raise an error while only restore does. Ok, I will test everything you wrote - in the end workaround could be selecting drive letter for mapped locations as backup location instead of selecting \\cas-nas2\bojan.zivkovic folder. I will post results. Thx again.

It has to do with the use of Microsoft Accounts. Because a Microsoft Account is part of a domain using that account in a local area network requires that the domain be included in the path statement for authentication.
