File restore not showing all folders

Thread needs solution

I'm doing a Files & Folders recovery after booting from the True Image 2017 rescue CD, as my data drive has died. True Image only sees folders through the letter "I" and consequently doesn't recover any folders beyond that. The .tib file is the right size to contain all folders from the disk. How do I recover all my files and folders?

Steve, instead of booting from the rescue CD, just double-click on your backup .tib file in Windows Explorer and check that you are able to see all the correct folders by that method.  If so, then you could use copy & paste to place those folders on your new data drive.

I like this idea but no luck - when I double click on the .tib file it doesn't open. Windows does show it as an Actonis True Image backup file, so I know it's registered correctly. Any other way to do gain access to the contents?

Update: after looking at the manual I found where in True Image if you choose Backup, and then right click on the backup, you get a recover option. Will try that next.

So after some exploring of what was in the backups, it seems that the most recent incremental backup is incomplete. That was about when the drive started having problems. When I looked at the previous incremental backup it showed all folders and files. Restoring from that now. Hopefully that works.
