Free space reduced after recovery of (C Drive).

Thread needs solution

I have HP Workstation xw6400 and have windows 10 installed on it. Yesterday, I created a partition image of my "(C) Drive" using Acronis True Image 2017. And then I tried to restore it just for test. Restoration process was successful. But I saw a problem that before restoration, there was at least 23GB Space free on my "(C) Drive", But after recovery, my drove has only 17GB free space left. I'm just wondering where did the space go? Can someone help me with this issue? I shall be very grateful.

Umer, welcome to these user forums.

It is difficult to be able to tell you why there is a difference in the amount of free space on your C: drive between the space available before and after doing a restore of your backup image.

I can only suggest using a utility tool such as TreeSize Free to see where any additional data is used on your drive, i.e. where the extra 5-6GB of data is stored?
