Full Backup automatic deletion

Thread needs solution

Hi,

i'm new in forum.

Last Friday I installed ATI 2017 in a couple of pc.
I set the full backup scheme with atomatic deletion after 2 days. The backup destination is a nas.
Today I checked and the destination folder I found 3 or 4 tib file (should not be 2?), And in addition there is a folder trashbox with other old backup.
The Trashbox folder is not automatically deleted? Because otherwise I fill my entire disk

Why i've found more than 2 backup files in the destination?
Thanks for the support

Sounds like you have set the scheduler for 2 version chains to be created prior to automatic deletion (clean up).  This will result in the scheduled task creating a Full backup first followed by the 2 days scheduled scheme (incremental or differential).  This would be repeated again for the second version chain so would result in a total of 6 backup files, 2 full backups and 2 incremental or differential.  After that the application would consolidate these 6 backups and create a new Full backup for the sheduled task and the whole process would repeat itself.

Pics of the backup scheme would help.

As Enchantech mentioned, the 2 days will not occur until after your version chains have completed.  How many version chains are you keeping in your backup task?  How many incrementals or differentials have you set?  Are the additioinal backups different versions or are they the same backup broken into smaller chunks?  Pictures will help.

Please also keep in mind that a version chain count is reset if you modify the backup task at any point.  example.

You have 1 backup (1 full + 6 incrementals) and tell it to delete backups after 2 days.  If you don't touch anything in the backup after it is created, it would take 7 days to complete the chain (1 full + incrementals - assuming one backup per day).  Then, The next full would run on Day 8 and 2 days after that, the first backup chain would delete.

BUT, if you are on... say incremental 3 and change the task and save, expect that you now need to wait for 6 additoinal incrementals because the version count has been reset.  So in that case, it would be 1 full + 3 incrementals (4 days)... reset version count if changed the task so 6 more incrementals (10 days), followed by a new full (day 11) and then 2 days to wait for cleanup - 13 days total.
