Full Backup Computer -> Windows BU or real Hard Disk BU

Thread needs solution

I am trying Acronis now. It looks promising.
There is one thing I can't find in the help or in the FAQs

The whole computer backup restores Windows and it's data and is for recovery.

But does it back-up the whole hard disk or only the parts that Windows sees?

If I look in select partions I only see the SONYSYS and Windows. But not my recovery partitions.

Does this mean that the full computer backup can be seen as a Windows-system backup?
And therefore not a 'real' whole computer back-up.

If for instance my hard disk is whiped out. Does that means I can recover Windows.
And my factory reset can not work anymore, because these restore partions are not backed up.

Joris, welcome to these user forums.

When you do a whole computer backup (either Entire PC or a Disks & Partitions) using Acronis True Image, then this will include all partitions, along with any hidden / system partitions such as your System Reserved or EFI Partition or Recovery partitions.  In the main Acronis GUI Source selection panel there is an option for 'Full partition list' which is a toggle and switches between this and 'Short partition list' when clicked .

The key point of doing this type of backup is to be able to recover the backup to a new disk drive should the need arise, but this would require using the Acronis bootable Rescue Media if recovering to a new disk drive.
