Full System Backup segmenting backup in to 3 files?

Thread needs solution

Carl, sorry but too little information to know what the issue is here?

What computer / Windows OS are you making the full system backup on?

What disk drive are you storing the backup image file(s) on, and how is that destination backup drive formatted?  What are the sizes of the backup file segments?

I would suspect that your backup drive may be formatted as FAT32 rather than as NTFS and this limits the maximum file size to 4GB with normal cluster sizes.

Windows 10 Pro

2 TB NAS @ 35 % Volume Usage

File sizes are:

704 KB

61 +/- GB

24 +/- GB

Backups for a different laptop are OK

Carl, thanks for the extra information.

Please download / use the MVP Log Viewer tool to check what the backup task logs show for this set of backup files?  I would suspect that the backup was interrupted and restarted for some reason to give these file sizes.

What are the names of these files, i.e. are they all xxx_full_b?_s?_v1 where they all have the same b? and s? numbers in the file names?

I would suspect an issue with the wireless connection. If you can, create a backup with an Ethernet connection and see if the fragmentation persists. That would confirm the connection issue.

A test backup was successful.  Your comment about interruptions led me to:

Backup one pc at a time

Place the problem pc on the UPS

Eliminate checking progress to many times

I will dump the error logs if the problem persists

TX for your help
