Has TI2017 possibilities for announcing to plug in an external USB drive before a scheduled backup?

Thread needs solution

Hi,

i've made a plan with a full backup and 5 incremental backups, then a new full, and so on. The backups are stored to my USB3 external HD, which have to plugged in for the backup session.

Is it possible that TI2017 announces me to plug in the external USB3 drive before starting the backup? The external drive isn't connected ususally.

Thanks

The answer to your question is no, unfortunately, this feature does not exist  although you could use the Pre-Command option in the Advanced settings to post a message to the display to ask for the drive to be connected when the scheduled task runs.

You should probably do a test for the external drive being present and only post a message if it isn't connected.

See the attached PDF document on using the Pre Command option to test for a network drive, that could be adapted for your purpose.
