Help with Error, Cannot find version 2

Thread needs solution

I cannot find any info on the error "Cannot Find Version 2" when doing a restore.

I took a new Windows 10 system installed True Image 2017, did a backup of the Internal HD, 3 partitions to external HD, booted off True Image USB drive, erased internal Hard drive, go to do a restore of all three partitions and get the error message.

Only did ONE backup, nothing was moved, don't know what it's looking for or why it's looking for it.

Is True Image really this unreliable?

Thanks!

Welcome to these User Forums.

Sorry to hear of the problem when doing a restore.

When you created the backup of your Windows 10 drive / partitions, did this show as being successful when it completed, and how many actual .tib files were created on your external hard drive?

This type of error for 'Cannot find version X' is normally associated with the Acronis Database where information about backup files is stored when using the Windows ATI application.  I would not expect to see such an error message when booting from the Acronis Rescue Media on USB stick to perform a Restore / Recovery operation unless there is an actual missing file in a version chain.

Can you post a screen shot showing the backup files created for your OS backup?

What file system is used on the external hard drive where the backup file(s) are stored?
