How can I safely delete backup files (.tib) or force the backup to start a new file?

Thread needs solution

My main drive backup is failing, as described here.

I created another backup "project" for the same drive and it worked. So... either the TI project is corrupt somehow or the backed up file is corrupt.

I'd like to either force the backup to start a brand new file (.tib) just to see if it's the .tib file.

I did a Validate on the most current incremental backup of the C:\ (the one that is now failing). (It's Validating now, I'll post results when it finishes)

Clay, the simplest method of forcing a new backup with a full backup file is to create a new backup task.

Looking at the log in your other referenced post, the only thing I see which is a little different to normal is: File Split: 26.37 GB  which seems an odd split size?

Another option would be to use Clone settings to duplicate your current backup task, then edit the cloned task and point this to a different folder on your backup drive.
