How do I "unarchive" a file?

Thread needs solution

A few months ago I enabled ATI 2017 archiving and archived a file in order to circumvent a bug.  I now have ATI 2017 build 8053 and want to confirm that the bug has been fixed.  So I want to shut off archiving.  I don't really need the archived file but I thought I ought to know how to retrieve it and expected that retrieval process would be obvious and easy.  (It may be easy, but it's not obvious.)  How do I tell ATI to unarchive the file?  I thought maybe I could just move the file from the Acronis archive but says the terget drive is file protected.  (The file was from my Documents folder.  I would think that both ATI and I have authority to write to my Documents folder, but I guess that is not the case.)

Am I going to run into trouble if I just (try to) delete the file from the archive?

Did you try following the instructions here?  http://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/ATI2017/#38630.html

I saw that and figured there was more information somewhere since it makes no mention of returning archived data to active/online status.  But reading between the lines I guess that " You can work with the files in read-only mode. To modify a file, copy it to a different folder, first" implies that there is no way to undo the archiving process directly.  I have to copy the data back to an online drive and delete it from the archive.  So I guess I'll do that.

I believe that to be correct.
