How to restore to a completely new hard drive?
I have an Acronis backup.
I want to restore to a new hard drive. The hard drive is brand new - never been used or formatted in any way.
I stuck into the laptop and it isn't seen.
Do I need to use Fdisk or something to prepare the hard drive?
If I don't have an external hard drive case to put it into, what do I do?
ALSO... I remember having trouble with MBR selection... how do I set this and what setting should I have?
(If the answer is use the existing type - how do I make sure what the existing type is?)
Thanks.

awesome :)
i also found a link on some question for Acronis 2016 that gave same solution.
'Disk Signature' - have ticked. (Ticked only because you told me to!)
What is it for? What if I left out?
I'm restoring from 250GB to a 120GB SSD hard drive.
Let me know.
Thanks.

The disk signature can be used for software validation. Should always tick it unless you are installing of an second system and will be using new serial numbers for your OS and software. I suspect that the only case where it is not essential is for HDD that only have data on them. But I am not an expert on this aspect.
