Hows the patch coming along so we can view our backup?

Thread needs solution

A while ago, infact before christmas I contacted support in regards to a problem after making a backup and browsing to the location, when u click the backup the explorer just shows a blank page. I was told it is a known issue and they are working on a fix, just wondering 2 MONTHS ON, how is the fix coming along?

I did not have this problem on previous versions....

Cheers

I think it's been fixed in 2017 all along,  but I'm not sure as I don't remeber anyone else asking this in the forum directly.  You should probably contact technical support directly again and check with Acronis.  I'd reference your original ticket when you do.

Not sure if this is related to your issue, but you may just need to clear the tibmount cache, reboot d try to navigate the backup again.  That might be enough to get your issue sorted out.

Navigate to (it's a hidden folder):

%userprofile%\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database

and delete the contents in there (again it's a hidden folder, so turn on hidden files/folders first).  If you can't, because the file is in use,  reboot first, then go back and delete and reboot before trying to double click any .tibs to navigate them.

Also,  where is your backup stored, locally (internal drive or usb drive), or remotely (network share or NAS)? I do seem to vaguely recall some users who have them on a remote share not bleing able to double click a tib and navigate it unless they copied it locally first.

Please also be advised, the double clicking and/or mounting of .tib files must be done with an admin account - regular user accounts don't have the permission to complete this task.

Hi there, I backup onto a local drive not external, will try your suggestion tomorrow after work see if that helps, had no problems with previous versions of the software, so its pretty strange to me :D

UPDATE: Just did that quickly before bed and it worked! THANKS MAN :)

You're welcome.  It happens sometimes.  It's just a temp cache file, but sometimes doesn't get purged correctly (mostly after an upgrade, but only for some people).

Hello Risey, Bobbo,

The problem with empty backups in Windows Explorer is known, but due to the unexpected difficulties we faced with properly fixing it, the resolution may be delayed and the next update may not contain the fix.
