invisible tib file?

Thread needs solution

Hello

I created a backup file with a bootable acronis usb stick. when I look at my drive with the acronis boot stick then I see the file on c:\ but when I boot windows 7 then the file is not visible. I changed the explorer settings but still can't see the file. All I see is that the free space on my disk is less since the back up.

I found in the internet that enabled fast startup can cause this problem on Windows 8 but Windows 7 hasn't such a feature. How can I make my file visible so that I can copy it to my NAS?

Stefanie, welcome to these User Forums.

This type of behaviour is normally associated with booting into the Rescue Media (USB stick) when Windows is in a hibernated state, such as with Windows Fast Start on Windows 8 and later.

I would recommend booting from the USB stick with an external disk drive connected, and copying the .tib file from your C:\ drive to the external drive, then deleting the copy on C:\ to get the space back again.
