Is it possible to backup to Google Drive

Thread needs solution

Google just rolled out their 1GB Fiber network here in Austin, Texas. It comes with 1TB of storage. I have looked around to see if there are any instructions on how to back up to Google Drive. Can it be done? If so, can someone point me to the manual that describes how to accomplish it?

Cheers and thanks,

- Pete

I have not seen this done with True Image, have not tried such a thing myself, so cannot say yes or no.  My thought is that if you can get the application to show the drive as a destination device then it should work.

Just tried it out - it works.  You must download the Drive Client and tell it which folder you want to use to synch (I put mine on an external drive as I don't want Drive synching to my OS drive and adding to the size). ONce setup, you just pick it as a destination in Acronis and Acronis will back up to it - another reason it should be on a different drive as you don't want to backup your OS to the same drive it lives on.

You can now create a regular backup which will create a .tib file (or files) and store them on your local Google Drive Sync folder and then automatically sync those fles to Google Drive.

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, my data is now over 1 TB which takes Google out of play. Performing it locally on 4 TB secure drives.
