Loosing trust in ATI 2017!

Thread needs solution

I am more and more loosing the trust that the backups that I regularly create with ATI 2017 will actually serve me any good in case of need!

Over the last few months - whenever I wanted to restore something from a backup - the file or directory always started at first copying OK but after about a minute or so the process invariably ended in an error popup that reads:

Acronis True Image restore fails with "The callee (server [not server application]) is not available and disappeared; all connections are invalid. The call did not execute".

After clicking OK the restore/copying terminates and the file or directory was only copied partially.

What the heck does this gibberish message try to convey to me? What is actually going wrong or failing here? And why does this happen with ALL backups from which I am trying to restore something?

Needless to say, that I can access and copy the containing .tib file without any issue, so the problem is definitely NOT with the external backup drive being non-accessible or "disappearing" during the operation.
To confirm that I copied the .tib files to my local disk, opened them there and tried to copy the desired directory from that location onto my HD, but with the exact same result! But without the ability to extract files or directories from a backup the entire backup is absolutely worthless!

Any ideas or hint what is failing here?

Honestly I have never heard of or seen this error.  I would recommend contacting support with your issue.

Agree with Enchantec - we have 2 years of support now and should get in the habit of using it.

Personally, I'd re-reun the Acronis installer (download from your online account and right click and run as administrator, even if logged in as admin already).  A repair install will upgrade the version over itself and may fix whatever issue is causing this error if it's related to something with the current install.  I've never seen or heard of this error either though.
