MustangPE plugins are now available for TI 2017 and Universal Restore

Thread needs solution

I've added a plugin for TI 2017 to my website. It can be used to build 32 and 64 bit versions of MustangPE.

I've also adjusted the Universal Restore plugin to work with TI 2017.

Thank you, Mustang!! Made the post sticky

This may also be a solution for you.

The simple/basic Acronis bootable rescue disk did not work for me because it did not identify my external drives (lack of drivers).

The MustangPE plugin worked for me for TI 2016 but not for the TI 2017 here.

I instead tried (unsucessfully) Acronis directions to create a custom WinPE rescue disk.

Then by chance I received from an automatic Windows 10 update the rollout of the Windows 10 Anniversay edition, version 1607.

Therefore, I decided to retry the basic Acronis bootable rescue disk and it WORKED! When I now boot from the rescue disk I can see my two external drives and find my TI backups. (What a relief to find such a simple solution).

At the time I had installed Windows ADK - the version to match my Windows 10 Pro 1670. However, I don't think that was necessarily why I found my solution.

To confirm what Win 10 version you have type "about" in the start box and then choose "About you PC".

Apparently instead of waiting for the Win 10 1670 update you can from Microsoft force the update now. It's a very big update that take considerable time.

Hope it works for you and, for example, is not restricted to Win 10 Pro.

I followed the steps for using TI2017.  When I boot to Mustang PE it still loads TI2016.  I don't know where it's coming from since I only have TI2017 installed.  Any thoughts?

You installed TI 2017 on top of TI 2016. This is always a mistake! You need to uninstall TI 2017 and make sure the WinPE.zip file is gone. Then install TI 2017 and you will get the proper WinPE.zip file.

Does this technique work with Win 7 Pro 64 (OEM) ? I realize I may have to reactivate it.

If I updated my system to W10 (because I went temporarily insane..) , would I be able to use any of this ^^?

Many thanks,

Bitdefender is flagging your universal restore html as dangerous.

Ofcourse right click / save grabbed the file.  A scan by Bitdefender came clean.

Just a FYI.

I understand. There may be other false positives reported. I recommend you add the entire MustangPE folder as an exception in Bitdefender.
