NAS backup

Thread needs solution

I try to create my first backup job, which is a backup from my NAS to Arcronis cloud.

In the job definition, when I click the source icon, my NAS is listed as an option to select (corresponding icon shows 'NAS')
On top there is indicated: nas://nasname/
Just below is 'My NAS-connections'.
Below, I can traverse all the folders and select what I want to include in the backup job.

When finished, I click OK, get back to the backup job and click on the backup now button.
The job fails immediately, saying Cannot find the files or folders selected for the backup.

I already installed kb 59051, because before, the credentials did not seem to pass.
Changing the host file with an alias didn't work either.

Thanks and best regards,

Reinout

Try this, cold start your computer (start from machine powered off) and once started open File Explorer and access your NAS.  Make sure that you can select all folders and files you desire to backup.

Now, close File Explorer and open True Image and create your backup task of the NAS as you did before.  When you choose Backup now does the backup run?

After replacing the files with the KB 59051 files

Replace TrueImage.exe and ti_managers.dll with fixed versions

You may still want to go back and clear the existing backup credentials from Acronis so it prompts for them "fresh".  Look for the Acronis SMB information in your registry as identified in this KB article as well:  https://kb.acronis.com/node/58004/ and remove those.  Then reboot and try a BRAND new backup task, reconfigured from scratch with a new unique name.

Keep in mind that, Windows can only use one set of NAS credentials at a time.  If you are using one set of credentials on some shares and trying to use another set of credentials on different shares (for instance mapped drive in Windows to the same NAS) this won't work - this is a Windows limitation where you can only enter one set of remote credentials to the same device per Windows logon session.  Technically, it may work if Windows properly switches between one set of credentials and drops the other existing connection, but this does not usually happen.  I've seen it work a handful of times, but usually does not as Windows will hold onto the existing connection if it's is use by other software like media servers (PLEX, iTunes, your smart TV or simiilar device that has already locked onto the NAS media shares).
