nonstop disk quotas

Thread needs solution

I have just purchased Acronis 2017 build 5554 to replace the WD continuous backup that I was doing with a lot of work and problems.  I have my system drive, and 2 8TB external drives with about 7TB in total to backup to a 12TB drive.  At the same time as downloading Acronis I also got a virus which started deleting all my software, inluding Acronis.  AVG has reconstructed my system drive which is lucky because I had deleted all my backups because I was changing backup software.

From the help files and my googling I have chosen a 'Disks and Partition' backup, and ticked the system drive and my 2 external data drives to do a non-stop backup to my external backup drive.

So far the backup is only looking at my system drive abd says that it has 12.1KBto back up, and is calculating time.

I am aware that the first backup will take days.  Have I chosen the correct options/path?  Goggle searches bring up different options between different versions.

I think you misunderstand Non stop backup.  That feature should not be relied upon to provide system protection.  See the link below:

OK, from what I have read for the system drive I should be doing a 'Entire PC' backup and probably at 'Daily Incremental version and Monthly full Version' retaining 2 full versions in case window updates are done, or data on the system drive is updated.

The two 8TB external drives can not be used for a non stop backup.  One drive basically has non changing data and usually no new data the other has new data added daily usually.

The first a differential disk backup twice a month, and full version every 4 months.

The second a daily incremental disk backup and a full version every 2 months.
