old backup not deleting

Thread needs solution

i have been using True Image 2017 a while now and thought i had it set to delete older backups/increments frequently and to do full backup every five times,  but i do not see files getting deleted.   Which of the files in the attached image can i safely delete and still have a viable backup.  i do have "back up reserve" on another drive as well.

thanks for your support

also, what is the trick to get the program to doing a full backup at set intervals and delete old increments? I had it set to do that but it isn't

John, what are your Backup Scheme settings for this task that is creating the backup files in your screen image?

What I see from that image is that you have 3 complete backup version chains shown for your "Samsung SSD 850 EVO 1TB" task - being all the files sharing the same B1, B2 or B3 identifier in the names.

As such, it is possible that you have set the option to "Store no more than 3 recent version chains" which would cause the oldest (B1) chain to be deleted when a new full backup is created for the next, B4 chain.

Using the Automatic Cleanup rules is the recommended method of managing your backup chain files as ATI stores information about these files in its internal Database and if you delete files manually via such as Explorer, you will get errors in pop-up messages for each / every deleted file.  The settings I use which work fine are as shown below.

I have the same issue. The disc runs full because Acronis does not delete the old backups (I've set it to keep 2 versions and 2 incremental backups) but it still keeps three full so I have to delete the third manually before backup.

Morten, if your automatic cleanup settings are set to 'Store no more than 2 recent version chains' then you will still need sufficient space on the drive to hold those 2 chains plus a new Full backup image file as this is how ATI works.  It does not delete the oldest version chain until after a new Full backup for the next chain has been created successfully.

Thanks Steve,

But there were 3 full backups with 2 incremental each when I started the backup again. So I had to delete one full with incrementals. When the backup was done, it correctly deleted on more automatically. So not really sure, what had happened, since that did not happen last time.
