Problem recovering a recent .tib file to restore
Recently I cloned my drive, not realising that I would lose my desktop setup and a lot of data.
I've inserted the Acronis recovery USB but haven't been able to restore my system to what it was before I cloned my disk last night.
When using the recovery disk, I get the following message: "Cannot find version 1. You may have moved or deleted it. Please click Browse and specify its location, or ignore this message".
You can't ignore the message.
There's no problem finding the .tib file in my NAS, although I do have go to the "homes" directory, then my folder for "Acronis 10 backup", then my folder for static backup (as opposed to an incremental backup).
If I remember correctly, I did use the "Backup" process in Acronis to make that .tib file in my NAS. Like I said, when I"m using the Acronis recovery USB, accessing the .tib file isn't a problem, but getting the process to complete is the problem.
The Acronis recovery USB does allow me to point to two disks:
1) Disk 1 -
NTFS (unlabelled) (D:) 191.5GB
MBR and Track 0
2) Disk 2 -
NTFS (unlabelled) (C:) 293.7GB
Track 0
EFI System partition 26.25MB
Recovery Partition 506.2MB
I have tried both options, and get that same "Cannot find version 1" error message.
Not sure if it's important, but when I access the boot options menu, there are two options for the Acronis recovery USB:
1) USB Disk 3.0 PMAP
2) UEFI: USB Disk 3.0 PMAP, Partition 1
I've been using the first option.
What do I need to do to avoid getting that error message and to recover my PC and desktop to the exact same state that it was before I decided to clone it to the other drive?
