Recover PC/Files is pointing to an IP address that is not my NAS

Thread needs solution

I have created a new backup job and removed the old ones. I'm now backing up on a local NAS but when I clidk on the backup job and then Recover PC/Files it asks me to authenticate to an IP address that is not that of my NAS.

I can go directly on my NAS and see the backup files.

Rachael, welcome to these user forums.

From your description it sounds as if your local NAS has been given a different IP address since the time that you created your original backup, and that original IP address is held in the Windows Registry for your NAS by name.

Please see KB 58004: Acronis True Image 2016: Troubleshooting Issues Related to NAS Credentials and in particular, see the section of this document for how to clear the stored credentials used by Acronis and see if that helps.

Rachael,

It would also be an excellent idea to assign a static IP address to your NAS instead of using DHCP as the later will change the IP address of devices from time to time without letting you know.
