recovery versions trouble
Hi
After restoring my computer and trying to recover my data I get this message
"Cannot find version 18"
You may may have moved or deleted it. Please click browse and specify its location or ignore this message"
I have tried to "browse" and choose one of the back-up files but it dosnt work.
Any good ideas?

After a restore, all disks have a new disk signature (UUID). The original locations (even if the same drive letters) are technically not there anymore because the drives have received a new UUID. For each file that says it's missing, manually point it to the correct file (hopefully you don't have too many).
Or, remove the backup task first and then create a new one by "add existing backup" using the carrot \/ at the right of create new backup... then locate the old backup files and import them.
Honestly though, if you are just retrieving files/folders, you should be able naviate there in Windows and double click the backup .tib file and it should open up the contents so you can copy/paste out of it. Or you can right click on the backup .tib file and "mount" it as a drive letter and copy and paste out of it that way too.

Peter, thank you for the document with the screen image but I am a little puzzled by what I see here?
The file listing shows file 'My partitions_full_b1_s1_v1' dated 23-11-2016 then it shows a series of further files using the same stem name, i.e. 'My partitions_inc_b1_s30_v1' through _inc_s40_v1 but these all have earlier dates than the full backup image file.
If this is a full file listing of your backup files, then the version chain is already broken if you do not have the files with _inc_b1_s2_v1 through _inc_b1_s29_v1 names. If you are missing even one incremental backup file from a version chain, then that chain is broken and only the backup files prior to the missing one can be used.
Part of my puzzlement here is how the full backup file can have a later date stamp than the incremental files showing the same backup sequence number? This should not be possible unless you are either manually moving or deleting files?
What I expect to see is a sequence where this starts with:
Backup_full_b1_s1_v1.tib followed by _inc_b1_s2_v1 .... _inc_b1_s3 - 99 etc.
Backup_full_b2_s1_v1.tib followed by _inc_b2_s2_v1 .... _inc_b2_s3 - 99 etc.
Backup_full_b3_s1_v1.tib followed by _inc_b3_s2_v1 .... _inc_b3_s3 - 99 etc.
