Restarting PC

Thread needs solution

While PC is in restart procedure message appears at top left of screen,

   "Starting X64 UEF (V 1.1.151)

Press F11 for Acronis Startup Recovery  Manager"

I have not requested Acronis services and the PC continues the reboot process if I don't respond.

This happens every time I reboot PC.

RHowe, if you are seeing " Press F11 for Acronis Startup Recovery  Manager" on your boot screen, then this indicates that you have activated the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager from within the ATIH 2017 main application.

If you do not want to see this F11 prompt, then Deactivate ASRM from within the ATIH GUI.

Note: I would recommend creating the Acronis bootable Rescue Media and verifying that you can boot your computer from this media.  The standard Rescue Media uses the same Linux kernel to boot your computer as would be used by the F11 ASRM function, so if this will not boot correctly from CD or USB stick, then neither would F11 ASRM work either.  On UEFI systems you may sometimes need to disable Secure Boot to get a Linux OS to boot.

Thanks for the reply, however, I have not turned on ASRM. I see no setting to turn the function on or off. I  have used the function in the past by going to tools but this was not done. The message started with the upgrade to Acronis 2017

I have not heard of or experienced ASRM being turned on just by upgrading to ATIH 2017.  I have upgraded multiple computers without ever seeing this happen so it is very strange if it has happened in your case alone.

Please go to the Tools page in the main ATIH GUI, then click on More Tools which will open up an Explorer window.  Click on the option shown for Activate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager and if ASRM is not active on your system, you will see a new panel offering you the option to Activate ASRM, and if it is active, this option will be to Deactivate ASRM.
