[Solved] How to deselect full dir+subdirs when defining new backup
Hi,
I have ATI 2017. (Win7 x64)
I want to define new backup. "ADd backup -> Files anf Folders"
COmputer > Disk D > I can select just 1 directory. That's ok.
There is possible to deselect some bubdirs on right side, so I expected these subdirs will be excluded from backup.
When I click OK, size of selected files (area) is calculated and it shows these subdirs are included. Why?
If I have this example of dirs, I want to backup everything under "main" except "B", i.e. A and C to be included, B excluded:
main
\-A
\-B
\-C
How to do it?
Is it possible to do it during selecting dirs?
Previous ver I had ATI 2013, and this feature was there w/o issue.
Thanks,
Martin

Hello Steve, thanks for answer.
That's what I'm doing. I select dir Foto (estimated size 43G), unselect TZ7 (est. size 15G - good).
I click OK and I can see 43 G again. See pics.
What's wrong? I don't understand it. :(

Martin, what build version of ATIH 2017 do you have? I suspect that this may be #5554 and if so, that is different to the version I am using which is the New Generation build 6116.
The reason for the above observation is that I cannot recreate your issue on my later build system which makes me believe that this is resolved by the later build.
The good news is that users like yourself (and my other systems) will be getting a new build for the standard ATIH 2017 version soon (next few weeks).
This issue may be related to the patch #5555 - see post 126983: Acronis True Image 2017 Patch 5555 is available! for the third issue listed.
I will try on a #5554 system when I have time to see if I can see the same issue as you on that build.

Steve,
I upgraded a few days ago, yes , I have #5554.
It's crazy, how to find ver of ATI - nothing useful in About. But in Account, there is Build # - I would say it not good way. Also design of application changed significantly from 2013, I would say it's wrong way. And, it's very easy to see it's now for mobile devices and touch screens. But it's diff story.
I found https://kb.acronis.com/node/59095
59095: Acronis True Image 2017 Patch 5555
so let's see if it helps.

Patch 5555 fixed the issue, however, there is another issue (related to original one?):
If I select the backup on left side, calculated size of selected files on right side (under folder pic) is sometimes wrong.
I have to go in (click on folder pic), after while calculated size on the bottom is correct, cancel action to go back, and calculation is correct.
I can live w/ that but Acronic should fix it ;-)

Martin, glad to hear that the patch 5555 resolved this for you.
