[SOLVED] Upgrade from ATIH 2016 to 2017 causes Task execution failed error, despite the job does run

Thread needs solution

I get the an email notification from a client that I recently upgraded from 2016 to 2017.

Buero 840 SSD Pro task execution failed. Description: Cannot read the log file.

The job does still run fine, so I don't get the log file error at all.

Hello Karl,

Probably the issue was with the status icon that did not change accordingly. Although it is green icon on the screenshot, the text above says "Last backup: 26.01.2017". If the backup was expected to run daily, there must be 2 backups missing: for the day 27.01 and 28.01. Consider checking the backup destination to see if the actual .TIB files for these days are there.

I would also try renaming the folder C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Logs, let the backup run one more time by schedule and see if the same error arrives with the email notification.

Hello Slava, nice to read from you again and thank you for your assistance.

The reported issue solved itself with no user interaction. I have no clue why it happened in the first place. I am unsure if we should pursue this issue, as I haven't had any similar issues on any other devices upgrading from ATIH 2016 to 2017 (NG), yet.
