SSD doesn't show up in Win. explorer

Thread needs solution

Well, I finally began installing my SSD. All appears to have gone well. However, it is not showing up in W.E. Both SATA. cables ARE connectedd. But, the driver has not been installed. Does it need one?

What I would like to do is, do a b/u using ATI2017- then restore to the SSD. But I can't b/c the SSD is not listed among my HDD in W.E.

Thanks in advance,

CotS

Until the drive is formatted and drive letter(s) assigned it will not appear in file managers such as widows explorer. You need to open the Disk Management Consol - do a seach for Disk Managment and you should see the drive listed. You will need to initialise it and then format it. If you are going to install the OS on it via Acronis, then you will not need to format it. Alternatively you could use the Acronis "Add HDD tool".
