Support question

Thread needs solution

Hi:  I am about ready to purchase a Acronis True Image and have  a question. I can only afford to purchase the Standard one time product. In as much as companies have issues with their software at times, and make updates available, would I be out of luck securing a fix for a defect if I only purchase the Standard version? I know it seems like an odd qustion but I see Acronis sells subscriptions and there is no mension of them providing a fix for problems they do acknowledge they have at times in their software.

Thanks for the help

Acronis changed their support model when 2017 was released. All versions receive 2 years of support from release now, so all versions of 2017 will get bug fixes throughout that life cycle. New features will only get added to the current version (usually) so when 2018 comes out at the end of this year, it will pretty much be bug fixes only after that for 2017.. This will be the same for perpetual and subscription licenses. Those that have a subscription will get to upgrade to 2018 at that time as well though as part of the subscription benefit. It's a bit of a trade off, but you get to keep using 2017 for as long as you feel it's usable where subscription users have to renew the subscription  to keep the product functional.

Standard support for all True Image Home products is now 2 years. Refer to List of Support Options for Acronis Products | Knowledge Base . Acronis has already published mutlple fix releases for TI 2017 Standard since it was released last year. THye have been very proactive in fixing bugs especially in 2017. I have been running the standard products for years. The subscription is new this year and requires renewal each year other wise it no longer works. In my opinion a perpetual license is best. You do have to pay for an upgrade to the next version (2018) but good upgrade deals can be had.
