System upgrade

Thread needs solution

I would like to upgrade my client systems in the following manner:

I have a system with two drives (lets call them Active (boot drive) and Passive)

1. Download the new image onto the target system's active drive

2. Deploy the new image onto the secondary (passive) drive.

3. Restart the system using the newly depoyed image (making my seconday drive the boot drive)

Is this possible? If there are better ways of doing this, please chime in.

Thx.

Ash

Aside from some terminalogy differences essentially you are correct.  One thing to watch out for is that once you have the image on nyour secend drive detach the original boot drive before booting the system again to the second drive.  This will avoid bootloader corruption.
