There appears to be an authentication bug in ATI 2017

Thread needs solution

Using Acronis TI 2017 on my Windows 10 laptop, I am unable to create a sync job.  When I try to connect to my Synology NAS at \\DS415\Media Library, I get an authentication error.  I have tried the admin account as well, numerous times, and it always fails.

Actually I received a failed authentication message when creating a backup job to the NAS, but after pressing the Cancel button, I was still able to access the NAS and backup to it.

Anyone else seeing this behavior?

Just found this thread on the subject.  I will try unmapping the drive in Windows first, then create the backup or sync job.

That should do it.  There's also a hotfix to address it, but Acronis just released an update as well today and should fix the bug as well.  The curren version and release notes are linked below.

The new build should fix this problem - not that I have tested it.

I don't see a new version, only the one I already have installed:

Acronis True Image 2017 for PC (Build # 5554, English, 492.4 MB)

Build 6106 is not currently being offered from within ATI 2017. You can however, download it from your account. I did this and the version I got was 5554 not 6106. So, there appears to be a problem with the server.

It may be a regional thing - I think the last release others said it was not immediately available outside of the U.S. right at launch, but had been posted within about a day.

I just grabbed 6116 from my account and installed - so far, with only minimum testing, it does look like NAS credentials are fully functional again.
