TI 2017 is now asking for credentials when I try to change the location of the backup files.

Thread needs solution

When I started using TI2017 a few weeks ago, it never asked for credentials when I created the backup profiles.  The .tib files are stored on a USB Drobo that is attached to another PC and Shared.  The proper file sharing and security is in place. One of the PC's crashed and was replaced by a new one.  Now, when I do anything with the backup profile for that PC, it asks for credentials.  I assume that it wants Windows/network credentials as I don't remember creating a password when the profile was created.  Regardless of what I enter, the credentials fail every time.  All PC's are running Win10.

The user on this PC is an admin and has full rights to the shared external drive.

Has anyone ever run into this?

Also, I did a search of "credentials" on this forum and when I try to open a related post I am told "You are not authorized to access this page". I can open some posts but not all. I cannot find anything that discusses locked posts.  I am logged in when searching, but am unable to open most posts. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

It's a bug in the current release - try applying the hotfix files

https://kb.acronis.com/node/59051

  1. Replace TrueImage.exe and ti_managers.dll with fixed versions

Not sure about the forum posts, you might want to contact support to have them check your account.  I think Acronis may have implmented some additional security for new accounts (or those with only a few posts) due ot the number of SPAM posters recently creating new accounts and flooding the forum with spam (I'm only speculating though).

Glad to help - sounds like the hotfix files did the trick?

Yes.  Even after replacing the 2 files, the app ran really flakey until I restarted the PC.  Now it seems to be fine.

Thanks again.

Glad to hear it!
